This year the pop star released an anime-themed music video for her hit single Levitating inspired by Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon. The same year, luxury brand Gucci also collaborated with the mangaka in September for a lookbook that showcased the company's Fall line with Straw Hat members Luffy and Zoro.ĭua Lipa's One Piece-themed look came as no shock to fans, given how this isn't the first time the artist has referenced anime/manga in her art.

The ongoing series has collaborated with fashion brands in the past such as Kappa in their previous Spring/Fall/Winter line collection that dropped last year. Some of the characters' abnormally snatched waistlines and builds resemble sketch models designers draw when sketching out designs. One Piece characters are known for their unique fashion style and designs, as shown through Eiichiro Oda's art style.
The series has been in publication for over two decades, recently celebrating its hundredth volume - which was released in Japan earlier this September - and becoming the longest-running manga series to date after hitting its thousandth chapter back in January. Sadly, Oda has also made it known that the series is gradually approaching its finale, even as Netflix prepares a live-action adaptation. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hats with stretching abilities and plans to become the Pirate King. Popular manga One Piece was first serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997 and follows a group of pirates known as the Straw Hats who are in search of the treasure known as the One Piece. The popular manga is known for having high fashion represented throughout its characters and has collaborated with fashion brands like Kappa in the past, so it's only fitting the pop superstar would wear the new outfit during Milan Fashion Week.
A recent Instagram post shows popstar Dua Lipa rocking an outfit themed after Eiichiro Oda's One Piece.
